Is there a patch test requirement?

Yes, there is a requirement although you do have an option to waiver.

How long does the procedure take?

A treatment can take anything from 2+ hours as we will have to include the discussion of the chosen procedure, which includes consent forms to be discussed and signed, and aftercare explained. Then we do a pre-draw on skin and go through colour choices and the numbing process.

What happens during the procedure?

We will discuss the options and decide which will be the best for you. I will then do a pre-draw/design on the area, before we choose a colour or colours. I will then numb there area and wait until you are ready to proceed. I will also explain how many sessions you will need for your desired look.

Will it hurt?

I want you to be completely comfortable during the procedure. I apply a topical numbing agent beforehand, and I frequently check in with you before and during the procedure for your comfort level. More numbing agent can be applied if necessary. This procedure should not cause any pain, although the degree of tolerance varies from person to person. The discomfort should not rate more than 5 out of 10, if that.

Will I be able to go back to work straight afterwards?

Yes. Typically the area will be red, swollen and with some discomfort, which will last a few hours. If you are wearing a mask then I would recommend that you give it a day before returning to work.

What to expect for the first 2 weeks and after?

Immediately after you may experience slight skin sensitivity, redness, and swelling. This should not last more than 2-3 days. An epithelial flaking of dried pigment and fluid may form of the area in the first few days. The tattooed area will be dark and this can last up to a week, the colour will soften as it heals, you will see the true colour come through within the first 4-6 weeks. I will go through the aftercare procedures with you, and you will be given a pamphlet to take home.

Do you provide aftercare?

Yes. To ensure the best results the responsibility will also rely on yourself to follow the aftercare procedures. These will be explained to you in full detail and you will be given a pamphlet to take home with you. I will answer any questions or provide information you may require.

 How long does it last?

There is no definitive answer to the longevity as it depends on a few factors as well as the pigments used, environmental factors as UV exposure, and your health and physiology.

As with any tattoo or pigment in general, fading does occur, which can require periodic maintenance every 2-5 years. This is recommended but not always necessary. Every individual has unique skin and will heal and tattoo differently.
